Rare Warwickshire Yeomanry Presentation Sword with Silver Scabbard Mounts Dated 1839
Blade with finely engraved decoration. Overall length in scabbard 104cm. Scabbard with hallmarked sterling silver mounts. Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1839. Sword made by Reeves & Greaves. The presentation reads "Presented to Captain Chetwynd by the Non Commissioned Officers and Privates of the 1st Troop W.Y.C. as a token of their gratitude and respect August 21st 1839". W.Y.C. is probably the Warwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry.
