Rare Antique Geared Tellurian Orrery by Jan Felkl & Sons Prague C.1890
 
An astronomical demonstration device, geared so that the earth revolves around the sun to demonstrate various principles of astronomy such as the reason for day and night, solar and lunar eclipses, phases of the moons, and the seasons.Working, the earth and moon rotate as the handle is turned. The oil lamp and reflector act as the sun. Approximately 57cm long, the globe is 9cm in diameter. Rare item.
