Large Silver mounted Scottish Cow Horn Snuff Mull. Presentation plaque inscribed "From Capt. Mackintosh to Mess XCVII Reg. 1837". 36cm long. The 97th Regiment of Foot (The Earlof Ulster's Regiment) were formed in 1824. This mull is silver mounted with a gilt interior, the silver mount has no hallmarks, but has been tested. There is a large facetted Cairngorn stone in the lid, and a facetted rock crystal in the thistle terminal. It also has its set of tools.
