Large French Solid Silver Tastevin Wine Taster C.1879
 
Large size, 11.7cm in diameter. Heavy, 327 grams. Mounted with a large silver medal, commemorating ‘King Louis XVI the Restorer of French Liberty’. I believe it probably dates from the centenary in 1879. Also engraved "Bel Elan Patriotique 1789". Small rubbed mark on the rim.
